That's cool, maybe we could arrange a DNTrade meetup for the day before Tues 20th June, so all the people flying in for that event could also catchup casually. Obviously on a new thread if people are keen.

The survey, however, received a low number of responses from members, but we do wish to proceed regardless
I think this quote could be applied to most things auda proceeds with these days.

While member engagement is always a plus I hope that this is not a feeble excuse to say that "we are listening". It seems that they announced a new "member portal" nearly a year ago. It baffles me how this hasn't been implemented considering it is a standard format for most membership organisations and sites, after all it is not rocket science. I will be looking closely at auda accounts this year to see the figure spent on communications especially with regards to the web site and member engagement.

i followed up with richard and let him know i would definately be attending ( my mistake for not letting him know) should he receive any other requests for information.
at this stage richard has not been informed who will be attending from the board or auda apart from cameron, so i will contact cameron tommorrow.
its a good initiative and i hope its well represented by both auda and members/stakeholders
I finally got a reply from the CEO today as to my question as to who may be attending from auDA. Masterclass in political speak.

"Ned

Details regarding the member meet-up will be provided to registered participants, and I will be presenting on behalf of auDA. I am unaware of whom, if any directors, will be attending, although I believe Mr Connell has indicated he will be attending.

Regards

Cameron Boardman | Chief Executive Officer"
So I have RSVP'd to both Richard and Cameron. Looking forward to asking some pointed questions - and getting some straight answers.

(Note to self - but you already did that Ned at the AGM, and look how that turned out!).

I think this reply is taking communication with members to the extreme. What is the problem?
The event is for auDA members only. Why cannot the CEO of auDA provide details of who will be attending from auDA to the members before they register? Does he not want members to attend?
If I knew who was attending then maybe I would make my 2 hour trip to attend the first auDA member function. Maybe I might learn something. As it stands I probably won't.

auDA Member Meet-up and DNTrade catchup
  • I'll be arriving in Melbourne CBD around lunch time on Wednesday (21 June). I'm free to catch up with people for lunch, or a coffee later in the afternoon, before the auDA Member Meet-up. My accommodation is a few minutes walk from the Meet-up location (see dot point below) and I'll mainly be around that area (Carlton) whilst in Melbourne.
  • I received confirmation today that the auDA Member Meet-up is being held at auDA's office, which is located at 114 Cardigan Street, Carlton. The Meet-up kicks off at 5pm.
  • After the Meet-up, I'm also happy to catch up with people for dinner (about 7:30 - 8pm). In the interests of keeping it simple, I've picked a venue close by that has a solid reputation for tasty Italian food at good value prices: http://www.universalrestaurant.com.au
If you're keen to meet up and don't already have my contact details, please send me a PM and I'll give you my mobile number and email address.

It would be great to get an indication of who is attending the auDA Member Meet-up and who would like to catch up that day/evening - so perhaps people could add a quick post here.
E.g. are you attending/keen to catchup for:
  • Lunch
  • auDA Member Meet-up
  • Dinner

Even though I'm not valid to go to the Auda meetup, I can make it to town for the arvo for a drink.
Excellent, I look forward to meeting you in person Chris. What timing do you think would suit?

I'll send you a PM with my contact details.

I'm thinking it might be sensible if I set a time and venue for the lunch as well, so that people can make arrangements.

Tim, please let me know which of the following times would constitute suitable timing for a 'late lunch' :)
  • 12:30pm
  • 12:45pm
  • 1:00pm
  • 1:15pm
  • 1:30pm
