Note to CEO and Board: Until the Constitution is changed, auDA is a membership organisation.

Transparency and communication are the order of the day. It really is time to change some of the recent decisions you made auDA. Governments and business organizations do it all the time – particularly if they realise that the changes they made are “on the nose”.

auDA, there is no shame in reversing decisions that you made …. in fact, if anything, you’ll get credit for listening and acting.

If I'm not mistaken, that particular auDA member signed up as a DNTrade member this afternoon.

Is it me, or do David Goldstein's posts seem to favour AusRegistry? (sarcasm)

No, they are not - it's everything else auDA is doing.

Big auDA Board Meeting next Monday. How I'd love to be a "fly on the wall" - or even better, a "bug" on the underside of the boardroom table. ;)

If anyone is interested, I've published some auDA Snippets on Domainer today, including my letter to the Board.

    Cheers, Ned

Yep there is absolutely not fire at all regarding the decision to ditch Ausregistry. That is the only decent thing AUDA has done in years.

Ironic David has comments turned off on his blog, his criticism is welcome but how about starting at home with the transparency?

He also needs to explain how the move to take the registry in house would be unconstitutional, I don't see it.

"That particular auDA member" definitely owns domains. FYI, FWIW.

Yes I have confirmed who the "flaggers" are :)... Strangely they continue to message and email me directly still giving me information to post on their behalf in many cases...

Hi Eric, Welcome to DNTrade :)

I simply mentioned that you had signed up as a DNTrade member. I'm glad you have. The more the merrier. The comment about whether you own domains was made by someone else.

Feel free to introduce yourself to the DNTrade community here. After all, you have domains and that's what folks here love discussing

I've bitten the bullet and renewed.

Bearing in mind the issues that have been raised on this forum and on domainer.com.au, it's more important to have a say and risk getting kicked out, than not have a say at all.

I would encourage other auDA members to renew too.

Breaking News! Sensational resignation from auDA!

Rachael Falk (Director Technology, Security and Strategy) has resigned
. Her profile from LinkedIn has even disappeared.

Stuart Benjamin (Chair) and Cameron Boardman (CEO) have a lot to answer for. Where is the communication and transparency to Members and stakeholders? Why do I have to report this significant event?

    Full story on Domainer.

Sounds like we'll get another "panic mode" press release at 10am.

Announcement on auDA's website this morning:

"Announcement regarding the resignation of Rachael Falk, Director Technology, Security and Strategy"

The spin has started - damage control mode. Bolding is mine.

"Ms Falk stated “the decision to offer my resignation was due to a number of factors, as I am seeking to pursue a range of different professional opportunities. I look forward to a close, ongoing professional relationship with auDA and fully support and endorse the leadership and direction of the organisation and its executive”.

It would be very unusual for someone to leave in 6 months on positive terms. Obviously things did not go as expected.

The "fully support and endorse the leadership and direction of the organisation and its executive” sounds like something Stuart or Cameron would have written.

They couldn't have been any more obvious. I think they read your story and this press release is the response to all the allegations. It is classic Stuart in my view. You'd think they'd at least tone it down, but instead we get this dodgy endorsement and denial of everything.

The smart ones have jumped ship.
Ned, Excellent reporting again and everyone knew auDA would try to spin this.

Did Ms Falk actually state this of her own free will or was it part of some settlement deed of release with wording auDA required?

It is highly unusual to put in this statement after just 6 months and why did Ms Falk take on the role if she was not 100% committed and was seemingly looking around to pursue a range of different professional opportunities?

I think is is appropriate auDA does not in any way offer or take on Ms Falk in any supplier, speaker or consultancy role in the future... maybe they will for the payback of this statement spin sign off?

Sadly for herself Ms Falk has made a large error by stating this when it comes to her our reputation.. If she really fully supports their mistakes this may have an affect on her own professional opportunities of anyone who researched the many auDA issues.

The release cam out around 9:30am, there is simply no time for someone to ask comments of two people and get a press release out in under 30 minutes.

What likely happened is Stuart & Cameron became aware of Ned post last night and immediately went into crisis mode, worked out a plan and contacted the staff member involved (who is unfortunately in a bad position with all of this).

The obvious mistake AUDA made was to put out a “propaganda” piece instead of something factual. The seemingly fake endorsement is not going to get taken seriously by anyone.
