Can auDA Management and Afilias claim in their mass spam email today Sunday 1st July that their .au wholesale Registry transition is successful and is complete? This is 100% false! No drop services for 14 days is not successful nor is it complete.

What is the cost, damage and losses to www.Netfleet.com.au www.Drop.com.au and other businesses?
How do they pay their staff for the next 2 weeks with no income while waiting for auDA and Afilias to get their transition and systems actually finished?

    https://afilias.com.au/about-au/domain-drop-lists
    • "This feature will be available when drop services commences, 14 July."
    • "The report file RO_expired-domain-names_au_daily_2018-07-01.csv was not found"
    • "Please note the date and time associated with the Domain Name are represented in Universal Coordinated Time (UTC)."

    "Site Maintenance
    Site Maintenance
This area is not available at the moment.

The registry operator for domain names in the .au space is changing from Neustar/Ausregistry to Afilias on 1 July. To ensure a smooth transition, there will be scheduled maintenance from 6am, 30 June 2018 to 11pm, 1 July 2018. This maintenance will impact all registrars in the .au domain space.

During the maintenance, you won't be able to register, renew or transfer any .au domains. You will also be unable to access or update registry data usually displayed in the console.

Please check back after 11pm, 1 July 2018"

    Down for Maintenance (Err 3)
    1 July 2018 - Registry Migration - planned outages

The auDA Registry migration has started. As per their notice at https://www.auda.org.au/news/registry-maintenance-period-30-june-2018-1-july-2018/

"The .au registry will undergo a maintenance period to transition services between registry operators.

The maintenance period is scheduled for 08:00 AEST, Saturday 30 June 2018 until 20:00 AEST, Sunday 1 July 2018.

Internet users should not notice any difference as the DNS will operate uninterrupted. However, registrants will not be able to be create, renew or change domain names during the maintenance period."

So while your domains will continue to operate "as is" for now you are unable to perform any creates or updates via our web interface.

If you have any urgent or unexpected behaviour during this migration please email us on support@drop.com.au and we will liaise with auDA to address your issues as appropriate.

We expect to remain in maintenance mode until 9am Monday 2 July 2018 in order for us to ensure that we are synchronized with the new registry before re-opening our system for updates. We should however be able to make urgent updates manually from 8pm Sunday 1 July so contact us via email if you have an urgent problem."

Everyone's domain check using whmcs is probably still trying to hit whois-check.ausregistry.com.au

Your exaggerated negative rhetoric (fake news) on other threads more damaging to the aftermarket than this 14 day delay.
Bear in mind that it could take up to 14 days but it could be as little as a week, so keep your eyes peeled for emails about this.
Also for the record if anyone asked us if we would volunteer to be offline for 14 days if it helped significantly reduce the risk during the migration by giving registrants and registrars more time to ensure data integrity both David and I would willingly put our hands up and say it is a good thing.
Try to think of it as them looking after your existing assets, this is literally in all our best interests.

Please note that they have updated their website now to say
"This feature will be available when drop services commences, 14 July. The daily drop list available shortly."
I believe they will generate the drop lists on a daily basis now, so we can expect it to get populated within 24 hours or so even though the domains will not be purged yet.

So having to check availability through the website only takes 1000 times longer than previously. Great experience for the end user.

Don't shoot the messenger and the very people who support and use the drop.com.au business as your customers. They didn't update their website message that's the original message from today.

Fake news is auDA putting out PR media this morning saying it is all completed when it is not.

You may think 14 days delay is fine and it's all been done smoothly and properly and is "completed" but I believe Netfleet who seems to be the most successful at drop catching thinks otherwise ( Just they are muted from complaining publicly under auDA / Afilias Registrar agrements etc).

Agree, this is Fawlty Towers stuff.

Can’t wait to hear the explanation as to why they’d shift away from their own namespace. Maybe they see .au as too unstable??
