Verisign is now running ads aimed at the UK, on UK public transport, on spotify, and no doubt other places, (not sure about TV). I suspect they see the weakened state of the namespace as an opportunity.

For a long time I have though Verisign could easily boost market share here with advertising, things are wide open with all the mismanagement of .com.au and it wouldn't be a hard to convince people with the .au rollout coming up, especially when domain owners start getting letters from Auda about protecting their brand. So far .com has grown organically here with no real advertising spend at all.
Do you think Verisign should be running ads here & could .com become Australia's defacto cctld?
A recent advert we heard on Spotify prompted howls of laughter at Engage Web, followed by sombre reflection. This quickly turned to anger as the reality of what we had just heard set in.
