Uploading Wordpress FIles

I forgot to mention how i ended up getting around this problem, in the end i exported the different categories to my pc and then using the wordpress import plugin in the tools section i was able to upload the separate categories to the new site at different hosting and stay under the maximum upload limit .....aint life grand

Not a bad workaround there. I had to try an import a 75mb sql file for a wordpress site once. The import limit was 10mb. I ended up having to split the sql files...

i'm dealing with a clients host right now that times out after 180 secs on any upload !!!!

how stupid is that?

If the files take longer than 3 minutes to upload, you should be using the correct method, like FTP.

This is not stupid, it is a simple restriction to ensure that you are uploading files the correct way, and not uploading massive files over browsers.
