NAB forgot .au & compromised details of 60,000 customers

I don't think they need to buy it. Imagine how many emails they must send every day without issue. This is just an unfortunate incident and they don't need to waste their time or money buying .com.

If only there were a way to drop away the .com from .com.au to prevent this sort of stuff from happening
