i was also looking at your Australian figures and with the help of my 5 year old (he is great with a calculator) deduced the following

1) 25 nov 2013 to 17 may 2014
in the 6 months / 24 weeks between the original registration of your domain name on 25 nov 2013 and 17 may 2014 and 2 months before your company ever existed, your non existent company brokered 3,102 domains, with an approximate weekly average of 129 domains per week

2) 17 may 2014 to 17 dec 2014
in these 8 months / 32 weeks, your now existent company brokered a further 2790 domains, bringing your total sales to 5,892, with an approximate weekly average of 87 domains per week, maybe your company should have stayed "non existent" as your weekly average dropped by nearly 50%

3) 17 dec 201 to 12 march 15 (today)
in these 3 months / 12 weeks, for some strange reason your existent company FAILED to broker a single domain, as i said, maybe your company should have stayed "non existent"

nichola

i followed your advice and found an amazing amount of useful information on the Houghton Richards Blog, especially all the 23 articles posted between 2 DECEMBER 2013 and 18 JUNE 2014, although that does confuse me as you guys didn't exist until 2 JULY 2014.

MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE

DECEMBER 16, 2013 - HR Brokerage Gears Up For Expansion
https://houghtonrichardsblog.wordpress.com/2013/12/16/hr-brokerage-gears-up-for-expansion/

Already a prominent leader in the area of domain name brokerage, our company is likely to reach three million TLD pre-registrations in early 2014. HR Brokerage already has more TLDs pre-registered than any other company in the world.

Someone has been drinking their own bathwater!!!

Hi Nichola,

I wasn't going to chime in on this one, but thought I should mention that Houghton Richards are working with .club, I've had a few emails from them in this regard.
----------------------------------------------------------
This one was back in January:

You may or may not be aware, but one of the biggest changes has just taken place for CLUBS around the world.

Just like 25 years ago when .com became available, the new domain extension .CLUB has just been released.

I am writing to you because you own [.COM DOMAIN REMOVED] and you can now secure the domain name [.CLUB DOMAIN REMOVED]

The best part is you don't need to change anything, you're simply investing in the future like you did when you bought your original domain years ago.

Simply click here 1&1.com and register [.CLUB DOMAIN REMOVED] today for just $4.99.

It's really straightforward and in less than three minutes, you can secure your club's future.

The .CLUB domain extension has only been available for a very short period of time. Already in excess of 150,000 clubs just like yours have bought their new domain name. These clubs see the benefits of a shorter domain name that is specific to CLUBS. Also a really important point is that it stops anyone else registering your clubs name and leveraging all your hard work building your .com brand.

As seen on TV .CLUB has CLUBS around the world buzzing and is supported by big businesses and celebrities. Go to
to watch the dot CLUB video.

Best Regards,

Houghton Richards

Later in January:
The best part is you don't need to change anything, you're simply investing in the future like you did when you bought the .com domain years ago.

To register [.CLUB DOMAIN REMOVED] simply visit one of the following recommended registries:

Godaddy.com (from just US$9.99)

Uniregistry (from just US$16.88)

Hexonet (from just US$16.50)

Prices correct as at week commencing date for all standard, non-premium domains.
Best Regards,

Houghton Richards

This week:
Good Morning,

Remember me?

I previously contacted you to inform you of the recent release of the .CLUB extension. You can still secure your domain name [.CLUB DOMAIN REMOVED] for ONLY $10.88 and add instant value to your business by branding you as a CLUB and making online searching easier.

Not only is this an affordable way to secure your clubs future, it only takes under 3 minutes to register the domain and nothing else needs to be changed.

Click below to secure [.CLUB DOMAIN REMOVED]:
[SERIES OF REGISTRAR IMAGE LINKS]

Best Regards,

Houghton Richards
----------------------------------------------------------

The email signatures included contact details, office locations etc
I'm not saying they're spamming me, they did include unsubscribe links and it was only 3 emails over the space of a few months. Just thought it may be of interest given the rather vigorous discussion here!

Looks like Houghton Richards (Nichola) has taken a leaf out of NF's masterful response strategy.

Say nothing - and it will all be forgotten in time.

They're probably just busy sending spam. I got an email from them with a few interesting statements in the email:
  • "Our renowned expertise as Australia's largest domain brokerage to support your business and manage the lifecycle of your domain names" - renowned expertise? Australia's largest?
  • "You are receiving this email because your business could benefit substantially from the domain recently released." - The last time I checked the anti-spam act, this isn't a valid reason to be spammed.
  • "Please reconfirm your interest in receiving emails from us." - reconfirm suggests I have already confirmed an interest, which is 100% incorrect. It's unsolicited.
Dodgy.

sounds like they use the same copywriter/comedian for their emails as for the website:

  • Our team of experts utilise sophisticated software that enables us to target key search engine rankings and find the category-killing domains for your business or industry.
  • It’s these highest ranked domain names that can dominate internet traffic and overwhelm your competition.

Hey mods / admin - just a suggestion, but given that this is an intro thread, I think that most of the posts in this thread should be moved to https://www.dntrade.com.au/threads/houghtonrichards-com.9271/

Nichola, please understand that we don't have anything against you personally. :) It's just that there are a lot of "fly by nighters" in this industry, and none of us long standing industry members had ever heard of your firm.

So from my perspective, I welcome you again, and hope that you will perhaps contribute on the other thread about Houghton Richards: https://www.dntrade.com.au/threads/houghtonrichards-com.9271/

Best wishes, Ned
