this call for interest was in the october newsletter, along with the PRP ( policy revue panel ) it is one of the key elements to change that auda has initiated .
it was a HOT topic at the sgm, and as a board member i want to gather as much input as possible on our constitution.
firstly we will pick the chair, deputy and the other members of the committee so diversity is essential in my view.
secondly, everyone else will now have a direct path for input about the constitution to the committee, rewrite the whole thing if you think you can do it ! this is a brain storming process, its totally open and without director involvement until the final proposals.
YES, it will then need to be taken through the board and legals and i am sure everyone understands that.
this is your chance to amend what got us to this point, it has served us well but everyone agrees it is now out of date, its not 100% throw out just a tweek here and there with some really good NEW ideas and "who knows what else"
what i'd like to see is also that the constitution gets revisited every 3-5 years just like a business plan should, we live in a fast moving world, once upon a time the line moved sideways but now it moves upwards on all graphs, what was correct yesterday may not be correct today.
i will be there to help chose the committee and i would hope i have many people to chose from.
regardless of your success on being on the committee or not, please keep this process vibrant through submissions.
please take part no matter if it gets taken up or not.
-----story------
i was advising a client this week on his newspaper advertising ( country town, it still works ) and i pitched an idea to him, he said " thats shit, but its given me another idea" . THAT is what you could do, don't hold back.
