Happy New Year all!

We finally got the list up online, see here - http://domainguardians.com/reports/au-domains.htm

Feel free to share and link to it any marketing/sales you do. It's a resource for all!

You may wish to add Cricket Australia who bought cricket.com.au for over $100,000 and let their name cricketaustralia.com.au drop recently. Goes to show the real value of a good one word generic name!

some have changed but this list from 4 and half years ago also is good to see who was buying premium generics in addition to using their own brands

Cheers, I'll get Cricket.com.au added to the list ASAP.

That list looks familiar, I'm pretty sure I worked my way through it, but I'll go back and double check to make sure I didn't miss any!

If anyone else has any additions, feel free to post here or send to me directly (email or PM).

Cheers,

Mike

anyone still doubt big companies dont want to buy Premium one word generic .com.au names???

Companies of a certain scale most probably do, but it is typically for peanuts and as we've seen from this thread, most are unused. That is why a very big chunk of good quality names are in the hands of speculators.

As an example I just typed in banking.com.au and it doesn't even resolve. I couldn't be bothered typing them all in because I know what the results will be, redirects, DNS errors and the very occasional actual usage.

The point is they buy them. If you own one you can try to sell it to a company of their size if its good enough and they want it. Whether they use it or not is not the point of them buying it. They buy it so no one else does in many cases also

Snoopy some people make a lot of money selling names ( including many on this forum). Isnt that one reason you are here because you own some good names also and want to develop. buy or sell them?

That small list proves the point they have value to someone and so do the daily sales results at netfleet.com.au Drop / Fabulous etc
