The domain name cityworks.com.au dropped a few days ago. I'm wondering why it dropped though as it only recently transferred to the previous owner as part of an auDRP outcome. Why would they go after the domain name, only to let it lapse again shortly after?

AFAIK, the .au direct applications are valid for 12 months from the date of your application so it'll depend on when you submitted each one.

IMHO, they're not worth more than the registration fee.

On face value, it looks like someone wants to get their hands on gday.com.au and gday.net.au via auDRP. They're registered to different entities now, but may have been the same entity in the past as .net.au was redirected to .com.au for many years.

As far as I know, no. They are however required to verify eligibility details at renewal time, so they appear to be getting in early and helping registrants sort out any potential issues before it's too late.
