I saw this one on a billboard at the footy. Even to me it just didn't look like a domain name. The average punter would have no idea.

It's not a good look. I tend to agree with Cam's comment on Domainer that it's the buyer's responsibility to know that they are eligible for what they're bidding on, but the top ten thing is definitely not good and should be an easy fix.

This is something that Netfleet really need to get onto. I'm sure the top 10 are automated based on search volume and CPC, but they need a way to manually review them. Surely it's only a 5 minute per day job?

It would be a terrible result for Australia if direct registrations caused the same confusion here and drove more people to .com. Ultimately it would see auDA, AusRegistry and the registrars as losers rather than winners. TBH I don't think that would happen given com.au's strength, but why...

It seems like direct registrations are the last thing auDA should be worrying about at the moment. Sort out the board and the conflicts (perceived or otherwise) first, then have a proper independent review of whether or not direct registrations are truly a good thing for Australia.

Agreed. From the outside it looks ridiculous. They're basically saying "I'm abstaining for good reason, but if my vote is needed to get the outcome I want and the lawyers give me the tick, then I might change my mind..." Why abstain in the first place? I'm sure there's more going on than...

I'm not a domainer, but I know what you mean and agree. It's just because I know the value of a great descriptive domain for a business, and as you said, most florists (and other business owners) generally don't.

If I was a Sydney florist I'd pay that for sure. It's one of the few new extensions that work well like this. On the other hand, I wouldn't pay much at all for florist.sydney It's still going to be a long road for them in terms of getting people to understand their domain name in any form...

Fairfax bought about a third of Oneflare earlier this year. Perhaps they flung them a couple of premium domains as a welcome gift? :p

I'm 99.9999% sure you won't be able to keep the same ABN when going from sole trader to company anyway. You can change your company name and keep the same ABN, but you can't change your business structure (i.e. from sole trader to company) and keep the same ABN since it will be an entirely new...

I agree completely! I'm pretty slack at turning it on each morning and off each afternoon. I can't set it to a standard 9-5 type of timer as I'm in and out of the office a fair bit. I'm not sure if there's any other solution...? I don't want to outsource the chat to someone else.
