Home.loans is ranking high on Google

It will take a very long time to make back the $500k with a 2nd page ranking.

The issue for them will be how do they maintain & improve the ranking. At the moment they are reliant for backlinks on recent stories about the 500k domain sale,

A previous "high sale" Coffee.club is a good example of how things can go over time, 211 visitors last month for this 100k purchase.

https://www.semrush.com/info/coffee.club

Coffee.club was described in 2014 as,

Coffee.club will be something of a "canary in the coal mine" for .CLUB. The name is a perfect fit for the coffee club McClure intends to build on it and it will be backed by a guy who already knows his way around the coffee business as well as anyone in the country. So the thought many expressed out loud was that if Coffee.club can't make a new gTLD successful then nobody can.

These websites will need real marketing strategies. Ranking from domain news stories is short term and these names have a huge disadvantage compared to the .com versions.

On this topic, I have just come back from a three week trip to the US and I am telling you that if you think nTLD's are not working then you are dead wrong!

We saw so many of them being used in advertising, especially in TV ads and on signage.

Keep trying with the sales pitch, I’m sure you saw heaps!

The reason you may have noticed it on advertising was because far less people find them online, think to type them in online and they have to spend a fortune to promote it..

From my recent trip to the USA the .com extension remains king and always will be. The majority of advertising includes a reference to the companies .com

People often will think a more successful company will have bought and uses the .com. The second tier or lower level players may try other extensions... and blow a fortune to create awareness of it.

A lot of people also got stung with changes of higher renewal prices of their failing newer extensions.

" GoDaddy. GM of Domains Mike McLaughlin stated:

We have stopped registering or transferring Uniregistry domain names into our system. The dramatic price hike Uniregistry announced left us no choice. Until we can assess the impact on our current and potential customers, we have stopped new registrations.

GoDaddy works to deliver a great customer experience. We now have customers who will be paying up to 3,000 percent more for their renewal. That’s an extremely poor customer experience and does not reflect well on the domain name industry in general."

Either way, they are definitely promoting and using them.

I was actually surprised to see how many .co's are advertised as well.

Plenty of memorable gtlds featured prominently by corporations and startups during AWS summit and Cebit Sydney

I'm seeing increasing usage of gtlds everywhere online in Google searches, FB feeds, tweets, LinkedIn, banner and text advertising etc

Did a manual verification

I'm seeing it on 'page 1'

Ranked 5th

Just after lending tree, Wells Fargo, bank of America et al so very impressive company

So maybe no sandbox, just the eye of sauron controlling what they want you to see and censoring what they don't want you to see seeing as in results are unfortunately location based

Well if you stop SEO of your site, it does not matter what type of domain you have... you will lose your rankings soon enough. That is the key here...

Google do not boost or penalize .com over .loan... new content, relevance, quality links, constant traffic is what is needed. This site is dead and has not been updated for years.
