The irony is that AusRegistry is now not in a position to benefit from all their lobbying/influence with auDA.

I am fairly sure some at Aus(US)registry may work out a way to profit...Let's see who the winner of the invited tender is and new auDA staff to "build" auDA's Wholesale Registry.....Ausregistry reaped $hundreds of millions in profits over the years. Enough is Enough.

This is why that tender should be open and advertised or we may see more of the same behind closed door dealings.. and auDA/ auDA Board sign offs again.

Whatever auDA does it needs to completely cut ties from Golden Gate / Neustar / Ausregistry and take them off the auDA Board asap. Everyone seems to now agree the conflict of interest was allowed to go on for too long.

Some good reading about the ASIC REGISTRY / Database TENDER

"It's a monopoly asset so we want to make sure that when a private company owns a monopoly asset … Obviously they will be charging as much as they can so you need some regulatory arrangements stopping them from taking advantage of that," he said.

Mr Sims said the government would need to introduce strict rules for any private buyer.

"What we've seen, with some ports for example, is that there has been privatisation without any real regulation," he said.

Tim have you got any input on this or has AUDA cone of silence been invoked? Same situation as what happened to SJ?

Have AUDA puppet masters ordered Tim not to make any posts with genuine information and now all that remains is Tim’s rambling BS posts about web development and plugin’s?

as opposed to your hysterical anti .au BS rants?

I think members would expect more from our AUDA's representative than some garbage about plugins. It is mushroom syndrome again. Find a shady place to put domainers, sprinkle some water on them and hope that is enough....I don't think so AUDA.

Where is AUDA's transparency? Where is AUDA's dialog? We know AUDA actively monitor this site (yet don't post).

Yes, will be a popular domain for phishing I'm sure. It is a near duplicate of the real McCoy.
Good point, well presented :) Especially if direct registrations are opened up to overseas registrants as suggested in the auDA survey.
Even if they are not it looks like overseas registrars such as Tucows and Godaddy are not fully up to date with registrant requirements.

I am a Senior Web and Mobile Application Developer based in Sydney with over 10 years of industry experience. I have extensive knowledge and expertise in Web and Mobile Application development for various business needs. I’m a creative thinker, all-round developer and I pride myself on being efficient, methodical and passionate about every project I work on. Currently I’m working as a Web Developer at Transport for NSW. I’ve worked commercially on the Web since the late-90s with clients like Labour Government, AusAccess and Mission Australia, Tenovagroup and Zinga.

I studied at Curtin University of Technology – Perth Western Australia and my major is Bsc IT.

I developed my first website in Yahoo! GeoCities and i contributed many plugins and module to opensource community such a Joomla and WordPress. I’m the founder of Meepe, a 3D Virtual Chat that was very popular between 2007- 2011 among teens. I had over 1.3 million members and more than 5000 daily users on its peak. Meepe was developed using old Technologies such as Flash Action script 2 and I used Red5 as the Streaming server. It had both Voice and Video chats and a complete custom avatar customisation section.

I developed many Mobile Applications for various clients such as Bateman Technologies(Acquired by the Tennova group), Federal government and many other clients across Australia. I was one of the developer who managed to submit apps when there were less than 100 Apps in the Itunes store. One of my app (Bateman Engineering process calculator) has featured among many countries under Tools category. There were more than 80K downloads at that time.

I was hired by Mission Australia, one of the largest not for profit Organisation in Australia to develop their website using Joomla CMS.

I have a computer science background, so i’m familiar with C/C++ and Java programming languages. All of my existing mobile applications were developed using objective -c/xcode or Java/Android SDK. Then i moved to cross platform frameworks such as Titanium mobile, Native scripts and ionic. Nowadays i develop apps using Facebook’s React Native because we use simple java scripts but apps will become native once its compiled.

At the moment I’m working as a Snr Web Developer at Transport for NSW. One of the largest Government organisation in NSW."
