My 2 cents is that the Mitre just down from Dickstiens offers "ground floor entry" handy for honan and also it is open space, allowing for the chance to walk around, i did enjoy our meetup but found it a little hard to just get up an mingle ...... although a good problem to have, we had a few people show up. At the end of the day you will never please everyone so all opinions are welcome I suspect

yeh, it does get VERY crowded in there after work, http://www.mitretavern.com.au/ but i think it fades pretty quick " 2 pints then train home ! "
standing around where we were and a few bar stools was very pleasent. i'd like to give it a go.

I like the Duke Of Wellington cnr Flinders & Russell St
Is beer at a reasonable price ? No-one seems to be adding anything to this so perhaps we aim for 2-3 weeks from now, might be worth mentioning we can't expect Chris to pay for a meetup drinks and snacks.

a burger is $22 and there doesn't appear to be beer taps, so i'm guessing $7 bottle of breu fron xie at 330ml
i think the pub down from diksteins is best, the after work rush clears pretty quick mid week.

You would be surprised what Young and Jacksons is like these days, roomy and cheap and across the road from Flinders Sreet station, food for thought
