i don't do seo so can anyone tell me how to find out a place to go to find out basic costings of youtube ads

the one i'm looking at is @ 2minutes with a "skip ad after 5 sec"
the vertical is medical.

needless to say i won't be doing the control but just looking for a ball park figure.

is it a cost each time it runs? or cost if someone clicks ? similar to google adwords?

I have done these video ads for clients before. In particular I had a client who released one youtube video per week in a finance niche. They wanted all videos in the previous 4 months to have over 10,000 views. Of course these pre-roll ads count as views if they get seen for enough of a percentage. We ended up spending about $250 a day across 20 videos, so after 6 weeks we had about 5,000 views per vid. velocity started slowing down after that, probably because of the Australian geo targeting and demographics we were targeting. Also any click throughs to the website were only about 15c per click. But a high bounce rate. Although for this client we also used other forms of Adwords to push traffic adding up to approx $2,200 per day spend with Google.

Another way I have approached this is by having one really short punchy ad, with links in it to your site. In this case you are not just trying to get your view count up, but actually do some brand advertising.

thanks peter, did you use the repeater ad ? you know the ones that seem to stick to you because of your past searches ?

as i keep getting the same advert over and over again !

so i'm doing research on medical domains, but i'm watching star trek videos but medical adverts for a melbourne company keep coming up, its been a week and they keep showing me this ad which is HIGHLY relevant to my searching which is great but i haven't clicked on it so it should just give up !!!!

if someone hasn't clicked in 100 views surely they aren't going to.

it seems a waste of money by whoever is handling their campaign.

its the effort you put into finding the right font and having no graphics that impressed me the most.
very much like my website.

It's Remarketing and they work by giving you a cookie when you visit their website. They are display ads and are very effective for brand recognition. It helps people to keep your brand front of mind. Not a large number of clicks on these ads but they are effective.

if you are paying for PPI then surely you'd want to set better parameters then 100 ++ impressions to the same cookie with no click through AFTER the first click through.
