I'm not a fan of straight up website to apps because if I can access your website via a browser, why would I need or want your app clogging up valuable real estate on the home screen? I think a lot of sites don't appreciate just how valuable it is, even when jailbreak + 5 column mod is installed, that's only 30 spaces total on an iphone 5.
Speaking more broadly, requests to install the app version of a website are beyond frustrating as it gets in the way of what I want, which is your website. If I want an app for your site, I'll find it myself.
Your site is a little difficult/frustrating to scroll within Safari because my thumb naturally goes to where you have the map and that means the map moves instead of scrolling down the page.
When I search for op shops (4 results) or opshops (2 results), your app is the 2nd result for both, the 1st of both searches is a paid app. As a free app, you're the first choice for people that don't like to pay for apps. I wonder if you would be better served using the website to promote the app as it's far easier to navigate your app than it is your website as well as moving to track shops Australia wide instead of just Melbourne..
I would also guess op shopping is more popular with women than men which is probably why the other app costs $1.99 as women install and purchase apps more so than men.
thx for the feedback, user payattention
Not sure what you mean by an app clogging up valuable real estate on the home screen.
Why don't you use folders on the home screens?
Or do you have so many apps that 30 folders are full
I do not understand what you mean by if you want an app you will find it yourself. How else would you find an app?
I dont know how apple decide to order the search results.
Probably on popularity. I hope to overtake the paid app quickly.
Yes, I agree. Safari is not the best browser.
Why do you use safari when there are much better alternatives?
Personally I am proud of the web site and see it is an example of how anyone can use wordpress to produce a web site without any knowledge of coding.
Yes, one day I hope to expand to include the second rate op shops in other places in Australia.
And thanks for the suggestion of promoting the app on the web site.
The app is not even 1 day old.
I will. I will.
You say better to promote on the web site. Compared to promoting where?
I am not promoting it here. I just wanted to share my success with my few friends who are dntrade members. I am sorry I have never met you, "pay attention".
I did not know that women install and purchase more apps than men.Thank you for that information. Do you mean in Australia or worldwide?
What is the source?
Yes thank you for pointing out that women frequent op shops more than men.
