If this is related mainly to eBay traffic, then provide a means for genuine and full seller and buyer feedback. ebay changed the feedback system for the worse some time back.

Allow photos to show damaged/incorrect goods etc.

You would have to have some way of authenticating users to ensure they are the genuine buyer or seller.

People do have ability to comment socially on items. If I am understanding the suggestion correctly it sounds like more development than I really want to get into.

If I was to allow people to post items for sale on the site it would function more like gumtree. This is how I would more so like the site to function.

Not sure why it would say 1.00 for cpc then? Can you please explain this to me.

$1 per click is roughly what you'd need to get listed, not what people are paying. It is based on how advertisers have gone in the past - which is not very well. Think of the high CPC as a penalty imposed by Google in this case.

punk(dot)com is a clothing shop
indie(dot)com.au is a clothing / design shop

Indie.com.au has 13 sections, 2 are clothing., and punk.com's clothes have nothing to do with "punk". It is just a brand name.

The think is you aren't running a clothing shop, you are a domainer. How does one start a clothes site with a vague domain? With great difficulty I would say. The domain won't help much.

How do you know this. The low competition? I know close to nothing about using Google AdWords

Does Google even do that? If I am thinking of this correctly it's a Google AdWords thing?

There is also hipster.com, hipster.co.nz, and geek.com

Not trying to open a clothing shop. I would never want to hold stock. If it actually did make some money as is I would try to make it into a online classified of sorts.

Thank you for the info. Very good of you to take the time.

Your first comment seems opposed to your second because for your second, you would need to do some development. Anyway, I'll bow out now!

Are you actually looking at these sites? Hipster.com is a photo site, geek.com isn't clothing either. These are functioning as brands.

Just trying to show urls of a similar nature are being used and seemingly successfully. Yes possibly as brands.

Thank you for the comments. It sounded like the recommendation was for me to try improving the eBay buyer seller feedback system. This is what I thought might be more development than I had in mind.

Some of the stuff I have considered could cross over. For now just want to see how it goes as is for a few months.

Any domain could be successful, the issue is whether those searches for the term are actually going to do anything for you. People searching for punk information/stuff/music etc by typing in "punk" isn't going to help the person running punk.com,

For your situation it comes comes back to this though, hipster has a reasonable number of searches, but if you rank what can you actually do with that traffic? I would say this traffic has very little economic value. Searches, traffic etc won't pay the bills, it is about revenue.

This is exactly what I am testing. You may very well be right. The data I have collected mostly through free tools suggests to me there is a market. If you have access to info showing otherwise I would very much like to see.

I've already pointed that out, the fact that no Google advertiser is able to successfully make money from this traffic. Even in the US there isn't an advertiser.

What is the chance of the term working for you when it hasn't worked for anyone else?

If you really want to know for sure just buy some traffic and see how much money you can make from it. I think any advertising will have a very low CTR and conversion rate.

Nice looking site, love the vintage look.

Perhaps have a new window open on the buy now button so they don't loose track of your site.

Be interested to see how the ebay affiliate goes.

Cheers

Feeling good so I thought I would share. Still a few little things being touched up. Hope I did good!
Hey Alex, I think you have done well and on the right track. You will be able to build some good 'hipster' keywords for SEO also plug in a ton more monetizeable content from affiliate networks using feed syndication.

We recently bought Cheap Designer Clothes and Stylish Brand Name Womens and Mens Clothing on Sale | AllTheSales Australia which is a very similar concept and its doing well. Happy to help in anyway I can so please do not hesitate to drop me a line.

Just as an update on this. I did successfully get into the eBay Partner network. :) I've only been in there a few weeks so do not know much, but if anyone has any questions I would be most happy to assist.

Also have started up the blog, been spending time on SEO and am about to start the nest stage of development.

So far so good!
