Because the guy at the other venue can see how much I bid for a domain and have hours to decide if outbidding me is worth it or not...plus it will force me to bid as high as I can just to discourage the others, if I really want badly that domain.

You may argue that is the same if we bid at midnight...sure but with less time to think, the other guy may walk away and you may get a bargain.

like i said, i had a MUCH higher bid elsewhere and lost to a $10 bid on NF.

the obvious tactic is win on NF at 2pm and win elsewhere as well

Makes absolutely no difference IMO. The winner is the winner and it still has the same odds to snap as if the winner was decided at 10:29pm.

well it will make a difference if you don't bid on all auctions, if you just bid on NF look how many times drop picks up the whole bundle so same situation.

just checked my bank account, although i didn't win the nz mob took my money !!!!! even though in my admin its says "failed"

not a good start for my first ever nz auction.

ps: just to be clear, it wasn't NF that took my money, it was the nz auction website.

I've won many via the drop catchers. Can't say they are profitable but i've always bought to develop and haven't yet.
