I just went to upload files to one of my domains: toowoonbay.com.au but found I'm not longer the owner. I'm wondering how this has happened as I have a paid receipt from drop registering this until 2014 ?

Please explain.

Yes, I was guessing you picked it up on the drop. I have a paid renewal renewal receipt from drop dated 15/03/2012. I'm looking forward to drop's reply.

Thanks Peter, I've emailed the receipt. Obviously, I'm very concerned but I'm trying to remain to calm.

I did own this domain as late as 2009 if it helps Troy, after that I have no idea whether I let it drop or sold it.

I believe I bought it from you Don, I'd have to go back through my tax records to confirm. I'm filthy as currently buying a holiday house there.

Understandable, but it also shows the domaining industry in Australia has some issues/maturing.

Will definitely be watching to see how this one plays out. Could be human error or could be a process error with drop. I guess really it highlights the need to double check whatever you do for your business.

I don't know how much Greg paid for it on the drop (and I don't believe Greg has done anything wrong), but he currently has it listed for sale for $1,745.00. I'd suggest Drop.com.au buy it back and return it to my ownership as quickly as possible.

Would be terrible if someone else bought it and the price went up. Hoping for a resolution soon.

Thank you to Peter (Drop.com.au) and Greg (acheeva) and everyone else that helped in this unfortunate matter. It looks like to matter will now be resolved. Drop.com.au have been very proactive in finding a solution and I've been delighted with their response since flagging the issue.

I would like to add that Drop has a history of being fair when mistakes are made; it is good to see

I would think the question everyone is wondering is how this happened? It is a very lucky situation that the name was caught again by Drop and that the new owner was flexible with it. Could easily have been a situation where not much could be done.
