FINAL call for suggestions, i will be in the cbd thursday 4/10/12 and i am happy to go around and review suggested venues.

at this stage the bull and bear is winning, i think its a nice enough place, not yuppie and not slummy, the owner is nice, its central and in the end any decision is better then no decision.

no body has mentioned a date problem so it will be 29/11/12 from 5pm.

so please chip in with suggestions and please start to chip in that you will attend.

catering will be smiths crisps in a basket on the bar until the numbers go up.

Hey Tim

Bull and Bear while convenient doesn't have any atmosphere and doesn't really have a choice of beverages, last time I was there it was either VB or Carlton, and if you want a nice wine, they dont have it!

Dikstiens Cnr Bank Place/Little Collins Street is great, they have finger food and pizzas, and a wide range or beers and wines. There are a few other places around the CBD that would work well.

Cooper Mills is happy to be one of the sponsors.

Does anyone else have any ideas of venues / dates ?

Post Office Bar and Pizza (postofficebarpizza.com.au) is a great place, but not in the CBD. They have a private room available too.
2min walk from Richmond station, which is 1 stop out of the CBD.

sorry, seems like i'm asking for ideas then trashing them but elstenwick & postoffice ( i've been to both) although nice means a train or tram and maybe not just me but also a line change, so surely the cbd has something for us

Would definitely stick to the CBD, especially as some might come from interstate.
