Hey All!

After watching one of the videos which Shane posted, it made me wonder how common it is to make $100k+ a year from monetizing their sites.

Just a quick recap, Morgan Linton (domainer) has about 200 websites. And makes around $100k per year. He employs Adsense, various affiliate marketing techniques and direct adds to make that revenue. If my calculations serve me right, thats about $1.40per day per site. That doesnt seem hard at all?

The video can be found here:

So the question I have for all you guys is, How much do you make on average via Adsense. (Total of all your sites combined.)

Note:
- This poll is set to anonymous.
- Please feel free to share your experiences/stories below.
- This poll is ONLY about Adsense revenue per month. (Not affiliate links and etc)

It's a good question but I think you need another bracket or two.

Quite a few Dntraders earn over $5-10K+ per month

I use to make around 4-5k a month on Adsense in the good days.

Now I am lucky to make around $1k from it each month...

Ahhh yes... the good old days.

Back in the days when it was common practice to have images next to ads to improve CTR, where the whole ad was clickable rather than just the link, where embedding a couple of key words near the ad could improve the type of ad and its CPC, and most importantly when people didn't realise they were ads!

I used to have sites that would get thousands of visitors and have a CTR consistently above 20%

Getting free organic traffic from Google was also easier back then...

I miss those days too.

What happened? Ranking dramas with some of your big sites?

Just big sites I use to run which were once having crazy CPM's decided to drop over the space of around 12 months.

It was not an SEO issue the ranks/traffic was the same, yet the revenue just took a huge dive.

As Chris C said you could pretty much do all types of ad optimization such as images next to ads get crazy CTR and have a high CPM.

I use to rank for a huge range of US terms which were getting crazy traffic back then too..

My Adsense earnings improve month on month for majority of my sites. However I am hitting competitive/growing niches with ever increasing CPC. Daily deals being a prime example of fantastic growth in the past year.
