Mine is, if you are regulary adding images to your site/blog include the keywords your aiming at in the file image , so if your site is about dogs and your aiming at big dog for your keyword , each time you use a photo name it as a file then add examples below

big dog greatdane or big dog greyhound and so on

what's your tip ?

Where to start? I consider whitehat SEO to be all about the 1%ers so I do everything I can do achieve good rankings.

But at the end of the day, nothing beats good content.

Top three ares for SEO in order of importance are IMO:

Content (search term occurences, semantics, stemming, image names (as spacey says), ALT tags, meta data, page titles, other embedded file names, outgoing links,...)
Incoming Links (quantity, quality, age, anchor text, breadth,...)
Domain Name (search term, age,...)

OK that's a good start. Here is a brief outline of how i go about it:

Content
In order of importance IMO
-Navigation/Hierarchy
--Based on keyword research
--Content should be broken down in categories/sub categories (help to determine the subject of a page)
--Avoid dependency on JavaScript/Flash
--Interlinked pages where ever relevant
-Structure of HTML Template
--Semantically correct markup
---H1, P, only use tables for tablular data etc etc, META Data, keywords in URL
---The 1%ers.. ie image name should always have alt and title etc. anchor tags should always have title attribute etc

Backlinks
-Quality over quantity
--Number of links on the page linking to you
--PageRank of page linking to you
--Revelancy of backlinks
--Non paid
--In body copy (not footer links etc)
-Anchor Text
--Only "Google Bomb" to 30% of total back links
---Mix it up
---Don't add unreleastic amounts of backlinks in a short peroid of time. Every thing should look "natural"
--DO NOT overly interlink your network... you will leave footprints everywhere
-Link to individual pages on your site, not just the homepage

Domain
-I think we all get this..

Nice breakdown DMP.

There's reportedly 200+ factors to consider so you'll never have a definitive list. However if you follow that outline, you'd be doing very well IMO.

Great post.
