What type of SEO strategy is this?

I hate singling individual companies out, but this site popped up in one of my Google Alerts and it was just to weird not to share.

They have several pages like this (linked in their footer):

HTML:
http://www.jmcacademy.edu.au/?job=best-place-find-job-alaska&subid=1001

It is just pure mumble with keywords thrown in that are unrelated to the text (or the website).

Anyone know what they are trying to do?

I saw something like this last night and i sort of thought :

?job indicated what category his post was in

place-find-job-alaska would be the keywords he wanted in his url

The sub ID i cant explain.

Arent they just linking in the footer to ensure that Google crawls through and indexes these deeplinks?

Yea they could be, and the footer links see to rotate so there could be a lot of them.

Makes no sense though as the keywords are unrelated to their website.

I sent them an email (had to pretend I was interested in a course just to contact them), in case it was a hack.

Sub Ids are used to track clicks etc usually to do with a cpa network.
Maybe they are using some type of script that requires subid to track clicks and where traffic is coming from.

I can see what you mean,

Linking in the footer/ footer site map to related pages with say 40 or so links isn't bad if you are linking to the correctly dedicated url which is related.

If you are linking to all random urls with keywords its not advised.

I wouldnt advise on more than 100 internal page links per page but, restrictive on internal PR flow.
