What to do if a domain is taken ?

I am after a domain but it would appear that "Name Wise" picked it up late last year. Do they ever sell there domain or is there any way of making contact with them to make an offer ?

"They" have been known to sell.

I know of a member on here who has acquired some names that did originally belong to Namewise.

Just did a quick search on a couple of their names, and these are the details I got:

Registrar of Record: Domain Central
Registrant Name: Name Wise
Contact Email:domains at namewise.com.au

Thanks Admin I had tried the listed email address but it would appear that
namewise.com.au does not have any current MX addresses listed so any thing sent to that domain bounces.

Is there not a rule that you need to have current contact information on a domain ?

Yep, there sure is. If the contact details are not valid then you could contact auDA and dispute the domain. As far as I know they'll contact the registrant and give them a certain amount of time to rectify it before they take action to cancel the registration.
