What's new

visualised.com.au

I purchased this domain over a year ago - initially thinking I'd use it to discuss 'visual thinking' business concepts - but I haven't had the time and it's just languished.

Quick keyword research tells me it could be used for: data visualisation, visual thinking, infographics, visual merchandise, visual mind, visual presentation, visual analysis, visual merchandising, visual lighting

Frank feedback on what this domain might be worth would be welcome :)

It might be a good brand name for a business in any of these industries, but so might thousands of other names.

And the problem with buyers haven't lots of alternatives is that it reduces your negotiating power and thus price.

I'd be surprised if you could sell if for more than a couple of hundred dollars to a retail buyer (if you could find one at all), which probably wouldn't justify the time you invested in finding and selling that domain.

If you put it up for auction tomorrow I don't think you'd get more than $25 for it.

:o

A domain like datavisualisation.com.au or infographics.com.au for example would be worth much more, and there aren't many alternatives to these domain if that's your core business.

Thanks Scott :)

I've got it up on Netfleet & Domain Marketplace. I quickly realised that unfortunately neither of those would attract potential buyers - the quick moving domains there seem to be more generic/less specialised.

I guess my options at this time are: (1) wait for it to expire or (2) throw something up and try and hawk it on Flippa. Advice welcome :)

I definitely wouldn't wait for option 1.

Throw it on the NetFleet Aftermarket Auction (it's free) if you are really looking to sell it and would be happy to sell it at any price.

Throwing something up on it to try and sell it on flipper, will again require more capital outlay and time - with no real guarantee of a decent return. Even if you have a good domain these days if you are going to put a site on it you have to also be willing to put in a decent effort otherwise you will quickly find it struggling in Google.

Let it drop and move on to other names.

WHY do people not just pick up the phone and find the end user?

theneemies: when you are starting out stick by these few common ( dare i say ) rules IMHO
1) only buy if you have a business plan for it
2) or you know who will buy it off you
3) or it relates to something you love doing
4) or its a KILLER targeted name

if none of these fit, then do what snoopy says and get out and come back more focused.
