Vaguely amusing...

Slightly cheeky, but well played. A QLD union has registered the com.au version (strongchoices.com.au) of a fairly controversial Govt campaign justifying privatisation - http://www.strongchoices.qld.gov.au/. Lots of money being spent on this campaign...

The Govt then complained to the registrar with the intent to get the domain cancelled

"In an effort to mitigate the loss to the State of Queensland flowing from the breaches...I request that you agree to a) shutting down the website and cancelling the strongchoicescom.au domain registration,"

... Then the union applied for a TM.

Love the quote from QLD Govt..."You have to be willing to engage on the issue here, not play silly buggers, essentially, with domain names"

Sour Grapes?

so they want privatisation just as long as you don't use it against them

then prove that a .com.au is more brandable then a .qld.gov.au :)
