I'm not a domainer and have no knowledge of this but was wondering do Australians type in domains like people do with .com's?

Are there .com.au's parked and never been developed that generate loads of traffic?
Or is it mainly google then click?

It is limited because the market/population the extension relates to is much smaller. There is a small pool of generic with meaningful type in traffic, then there is generic sounding names with mistypes (eg whirlpool.com.au) and perhaps a bigger pool of TM style names.
