I have watched the interview yet but the headline was enough to make me think they are going to be up against, mostly because most clubs are already registered using .com or local .cctld

Why would they change ?

Yeah I can not see .com.au RSL club owners moving over. The only thing that would probably trigger it would be a wed developer who has 50 different RSL clubs who changes them all over. But that been said most web developers probably will not do it.

Or I can see it happening if some one wants a good term which is already taken by all other TLD's.

It is a big vision these guys have, it will be like convincing everyone to buy a new car while the one they have is still new.

Yeah I can not see .com.au RSL club owners moving over. The only thing that would probably trigger it would be a wed developer who has 50 different RSL clubs who changes them all over. But that been said most web developers probably will not do it.

Or I can see it happening if some one wants a good term which is already taken by all other TLD's.

I can see this happening for the average club that goes to create a website and figures out there name is gone already.

Furthermore, clubs are probably not interested in the investment value of their clubs domain name.

If they work to on developing and providing complimentary club resources that will make it a lot more attractive.

I have always recommended any clubs to go for the .org.au, but they don't always want to. Seems the preferred for clubs IMO.

Most clubs have no money and lots of people required to make a decision. Very much doubt they are going to get 1million registrations. I guess there is nightclubs etc but I still doubt it is going to be much of a market.

Saw the same piece. Not going to happen they are in absolute dream mode. They should have folded their notes and put it back in there pocket.
