Snap names

Did drop used to have a name snap (non auction) service where you could snp names by nominating dn's wanted and when they expired they would snap 'em for you? Seems it's only for Trade Mark owners now if it was previously open to general domains:

"Drop Backorder Service: From time to time we see protected brand names on the daily expired domain lists. In these circumstances we reserve the domain our auctions and offer the Trade Mark owner the opportunity to back order the domain. "

Are there any aussie backorder services for the general public?

Thanks, saw that just now too... $99 for 2 years on the chance a dn may come up is a bit rich, especially if you have a number of dn's in mind! I think netfleet have an unfair advantage as their relationship with netregistry means they have direct access to the registration process.

Hi Smee,

Unfortunately we don't offer a backorder service as such. This was once of the areas that we were experimenting with in the early days, but we couldn't come up with model that worked for all parties concerned.

You can sign up with our free Daily drop alerts at https://www.drop.com.au/subscribe.php, and nominate the keywords that you are interested in under Domains to list in email body> custom settings. You'll then receive an alert email whenever domains that match your criteria are dropping.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Andrew

Can you explain how NetFleet has the advantage?

DROP is an accredited registrar too.
