Should the AUDA forum by marked non private?

Was surprised when I realised a while back that the AUDA forum is marked private, not viewable to non members and presumably not indexed by searched engines.

I have personally avoided using it for that reason a and just post in news.

Should this forum be public? Is there any reason for it being private?
