Server Hold (Expired)

This in part is related to the Highlight AMA thread. https://www.dntrade.com.au/netfleet-com-au/7122-highlight-aftermarket-domain.html

Let's use steaks.net.au as an example, a domain currently registered by a member here.

This domain shows the status serverHold (Expired)

It was listed the other day in the Netfleet no reserve auction.

The auction ended with no bids on the domain, but the domain is not available to be hand regged.

Can a domain with this status actually be sold at auction?

I mean no disrespect to the owner of this domain, I'm just trying learn how the system works, and used this domain only as an example.

Technically you can process a COR on an expired domain in the 30 day grace period, you can also transfer it or even renew it. So yes we allow them to be sold at auction.

A word of advise to anyone trying this, make sure you do this as early as possible as any delays later in the process can result in the domain being purged from the registry.
