Registrant emails not active - time to backorder domain?

Hi all,
I have tried to send an email to the 'registrant contact email' and the 'tech contact email' for a domain I want to buy, but both have bounced back as a delivery status failure. Good time to backorder the domain?

whats the sites statis? online, parked, not resolving?
whats the last change date on the whois? these are things to consider IMO.

Does not resolve.
Last change on whois 21 October 2013.
Company has cancelled their ABN status from 28 April 2015. (Just found that out this morning.)
I'm thinking I'll place a backorder but I'd rather buy it directly - just can't find a way to get in touch with them. (Have tried LinkedIn, Facebook etc, wayback machine for phone numbers etc.)

Have you checked archive.org? You can also check ASIC to see why the ABN was cancelled.

I wouldn't trust a backorder alone. I'd be watching the auctions and spreading my bets if it's a good domain

I've come across quite a few of these recently myself. Make sure you check the trademark database also.
