Protecting Domain Names as Part of Brand Security

Someone sent me this article found on a marketing news site. It has some good tips such as 2 Factor Authentication, but can't recall any registrars that offer all of these options:

• Restricting access to a portal via an IP address
• Sending notifications on any name changes
• Avoiding automated emails as a primary means of communication
• Keeping activity logs to track all domain name updates
• Maintaining strong password management to force password changes
• Offering multiple levels of access

Keeping track of features across registrars is not easy, but I would also add:

• Make use of different tech, billing, admin contacts
• Choose a registrar with knowledgable support
