If you ever wish to reg a .de or .co.uk just go to europeregistry.com and they act as your agent for these types of regs

hope that helps anyone wanting overseas names

its all over the place , i went to dynadot to reg a .us , but couldn't , at godaddy i could.

then at godaddy i couldn't reg a .co.uk or a .de , it normally depends where their homebase is i think

it seems europe registry cover many european countries , although not that cheap

Co.uk is easy to register in Australia
Any Planetdomain or netregistry affiliated site (including resellers) allow registration.
Why people are so fascinated by Godaddy that they never look closer to home.

I went to godaddy to register a .us and was a bit confused by the rules.

What were your tactics around this?

I too have had a .co.uk from NR.

The .us nexus rules are specific about foreign ownership
just list yourself as non-us resident doing business in the .us

I own several ,never been challenged once. Indeed my FIRST domain I ever paid for & registered was an .us .
I registered it at PD for use as a PD reseller site.
Still own it 6 years later.

I've used webnic.cc quite a bit for o/s extensions. Speak to Amanda there she's very helpful and they do just about anything.

They successfully grabbed us wd.de in the 2-letter .de rush last year too :)
