We auction expired .nz domain names and have been very successful recently picking up housesforsale.co.nz, boots.co.nz and basketball.co.nz in the last two weeks.
After we catch them we transfer them into a Netregistry account and you manage the domain there so registrant transfers and renewals costs would depend on your Netregisty account.

COR on .nz is as simple as changing the contact details as far as I know.
