Would say many many web admins and SEO's seem to live in Brisbane/ Gold Coast from my experience in the business and going to meet ups, I mean from adult sites, affiliate sites and just general website networks (lifestyle I guess). Sydney has a decent population but yeah Melbourne has a few too.

No. I work with and know truckloads in NSW, QLD and WA as well as VIC. It may be the circles you're in mean you tend to notice Melb more if that's who you associate with, but anecdotal and subjective evidence isn't worth a cracker. The ABR might have some more solid figures based around ABN's but then it's probably not that accurate as people change businesses etc and keep the same ABN.
