I asked if i could have the logo from a online store i have so i could place it in one or two of my blog pages

i was expecting to receive the logo in html so i could just cut and paste into the pages as required

Instead i received the logo as a picture and when i save it, it is a gif file and only came up as text when i placed it into a page

so the question is how do i take the gif image from the email i received and put it into a web page ?

love to know thanks

.........regards

yes i am using wordpress ........ i have inserted many pics in the past but never a logo with link and when i saved it and placed it into the page only the text came up ?

this where i am getting lost ?

the html was not supplied otherwise i could have just cut and pasted i think

maybe it's the way i am saving it ?

just tried again and it didn't work

<a href="http://www.cheapsunglasses.me"><a href="http://bikinis.tv/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/sunglasses-logo.gif"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-809" title="sunglasses logo" src="http://bikinis.tv/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/sunglasses-logo.gif" alt="" width="273" height="91" /></a></a>

i can put the image in but when i added the link it just went to page with the logo and not the actual site

A logo can't be an html file, html is lines of codes which will refer to graphics files like GIFs. Would suggest doing a one day html course or something like that. Should be fairly simple to add a logo in wordpress.

Word will also allow you to create html files and you'll be able to paste that logo in then upload it (Word isn't very good for this kind of thing but is simple).

yes a course would make sense but i am hoping at this point to simply place the logos on the site and have them work , i can place the image i just gotta get to go to the link

i wouldn't quite where to start with word but it may be an option to look into thanks

Try this as you had the image linked twice, once to cheapsunglasses.me and the other to the image itself.
HTML:
<a href="http://www.cheapsunglasses.me"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-809" title="sunglasses logo" src="http://bikinis.tv/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/sunglasses-logo.gif" alt="" width="273" height="91" /></a>
