Will you take "Or Nearest Offer"?

hum... MelbourneIT suggested $800,000 to $1,000,000 but need me to transfer to MelbourneIT first to be listed on their site.

Anyway, what's your offer?

I would be very highly surprised for MelbourneIT to even get even 1/20th of the 500k your after, let alone anywhere near the million dollar mark. I dont even know if MIT has sold any domains from their site yet. Would like to find out though.

I was suprised too, so actually, any fair suggestion will be considered.

hmmm i wonder who does the appraisals at melbourneIT?
I think you should expect <$3000 in the current market.
But then again if someone really wants that domain then it may go for alot more. Finding that person will be a problem though.

Ha.. it was totally a joke.

Have confirmed with my friend (the one who owned the domain license).

Here is the story, he has get contacted with MIT about how to sell and what price shoud it be.. etc. And get an unofficial reply saying that it could be as hihg as a million IF SOMEONE LIKE THE DOMAIN. A official appraisal require the domain to transfer to MIT as the registrar before it can be listed.

Have been "instructed" to change the price to 50K rather than 500K.

Personally, I think the domain name may be at a higher value (then $3000) because of
1. It means something by the word itself
2. It could also be a nice NAME of a business too.

Again, any fair suggestion is welcome.

geez MIT are good blokes..

Can't believe you have to transfer the domain just to list it on their website and they still take a whopping 30%!

Although this page says its free to list:
http://www.melbourneit.com.au/cc/domainname/premium-domain-names

And the T&C say nothing about transfer:
http://www.melbourneit.com.au/policies/policy-au-premium-domains.php

Also interesting that they claim:
"We have sold the most .au domain names in Australia..." without providing any evidence...

30% WOW WOW WOW... no wonder they suggest that high price...

For listing on MIT... when you completing the listing, it says you have to transfer the domain name to be listed to MIT.... ?!@$E@#%R@

Will never list on MIT anyway.. and that 30% are just killing people..
