wouldn't they be better to buy some decent generic one word no hyphen names from people selling good one's?

Interesting to see them registering domain names with for example: canon, samsung, ipad, ipod, Iphone, Galaxys3, Galaxynote in the domain name!

WARNING DO NOT CLICK THE domain LINKS!! Maybe have a Black hat working for them. I clicked a few links and the domains forwards to kogan.com.au popping up hundreds of times and you cant close the pages..not good Kogan! I thought no one used those old tricks anymore to generate traffic stats etc!??

They've followed the classic newbie domainer mistake of registering a heap of garbage instead of spending the money on a smaller quantity of quality domains.

Looks like it's Black Hat SEO strategy which has been discussed on many other forums.

Very unpopular with Google if they found out what was happening.. and maybe some questions on policy for a few also

Very surprised Kogan is still doing this!

Maybe they register crap domains to use in the black hat seo strategy in case it gets Policy deleted etc and they dont lose any money on domain values but it generates fake search results, traffic etc

I do not thing this is a black hat strategy, I think they have just been advised incorrectly.

I feel it is good they have picked up all the tld's to stop people buying them.

I do not agree with the dash domains but.

Wonder how that and many of those .com.au names meet "close and substantial" auda policy by forwarding it to Kogan.com.au ?

I think it's a huge risk considering how they are a high profile online retailer. Previously to the EMD algo update I could see some value in these domains but outside of the .com domains I think it's a waste of resources.

The biggest shame is they are not making use of the domains by doing basics such as redirecting them to the relevant section or product page. Sending the visitors from an exact match domain to the homepage is just lazy....

If you were to compete with Kogan you could easily understand what phrases they are interested in focusing on. But also what new product features they are looking at focusing on such as Live Pricing, Fishing Gear? or Social Pricing.

If you were an affiliate and wanted to poach traffic via AdWords or SEO you can also understand the number of ways Kogan is mispelt....

They aren't really doing any obvious blackhat techniques with these domains that I can see but I can think of plenty that is possible...
