Is .net.au for any Name worthwhile?

I'm wondering in .net.au is a worthwhile purchase for a generic domain, given that I've read on a blog that .net.au is usually for Tech domains?

Quite often they are the last one available for 'new' purchase, so do many of you avoid them?

I've got a couple and one of them has a number 1 ranking for a pretty competitive term.
If it's a good generic name that's in demand, i wouldn't care if it was a .net.au

From what I gather most domainers dont like them as much as a com.au but I guess it depends on what you want to do with them.

BTW this question would be better asked in the general questions or newbies area of the forum (also do .net searches of threads on the forum). This area (marketplace)is reserved for sale of domains.

But seriously, yes - in most circumstances, unless you are planning on building a "real" business on it.

they serve their purpose if you develop a site but unless

it's a really super .net.au I now stay away from them as they don't seem to be as popular on the aftermarket as they were 12 months ago.

Avoid unless it is purely for SEO (which is dying a slow death anyway).
