Invalid Registrant Email Address

I'm interested in acquiring a name that my client has TM and usage rights to but I'd much rather negotiate a sale than go the auDRP route. I've attempted to make an offer on it but the email bounced permanently.

I've no doubt I can hunt the guy down and get in touch with him via alternative means. I'm just curious as to the sort of ramifications that can arise from listing an invalid email address as your registrant contact?

This is the policy section Joe:

3. MAINTENANCE OF REGISTRANT CONTACT INFORMATION

3.1 Under the Registrant Agreement, registrants are obliged to notify the registry, through the registrar, of any changes to their information. The Certificate of Registration includes a statement that failure to notify changes to contact or other information may result in revocation of the registrant's domain name licence.

But in practise, auDA would probably allow the Registrant to make rectification. Therefore an attempt at friendly negotiation sounds like a good first step!
