Thanks for sharing, Rod. Interesting article. It had everything - a .tv sub-forum (paradise for you, eh Rod?), Snoopy - a "provocateur" (really?) and some good advice for domainers new and old towards the end.

It had everything - a .tv sub-forum (paradise for you, eh Rod?).

That .tv sub forum has been dead for years, they get one sale and go crazy these days, Snoopy is correct when he says there are not enough sales in this extension. I only really plan to keep two long term, cheers!

The problem with "groups of like minded people" sometimes you can get everyone feeding each other garbage, like the .tv forum that you mentioned, i.e. everyone tells everyone else they will do well, the names are good investments when in reality those people were losing lots of money on premium renewals, $35, $250, $5000 a year on single names. An issue also is when dissenting viewpoints are not tolerated because everyone is so convinced of what they are doing. On namepros .tv forum this was made worse from the mod on the forum, where posts were deleted because of a viewpoint rather than breach of rules.

From what I know of it Dntrade gets the same stream of complaints about me but chooses not to just delete opinion which is the right thing to do. Even on Domainstate when I was part owner a couple of times people reported my appraisals

When he talks about that tv forum becoming a religion I'd say when the critical post gets removed that is something different to a religion, it's a cult.
