Bet you that filthy.rich obscenely.rich and richy.rich were the first to go.

    is.rich would be a good buy. e.g

    spacey.is.rich ;)

Spacey can't afford and doesn't need .rich is probably closer to the point, besides rod.rich is reserved so no go anyway

i guess the question is, would you reg it for $1,000 a year? Very much a vanity extension with no real purpose in my opinion

i find it interesting that the longer extension of .photography has many more regs compared to the shorter .photo and .photos

As a part time photographer, I can understand why.

Most people already own mynamephotrography.com (etc)

myname.photography actually shortens their domain name
    It also is inherently descriptive
and there are heaps of photographers out there, amateur to professional who would find it useful.

Shortening to .pics .photo .photos doesn't really say "I'm a photographer"

    the complete opposite of .rich

as an ex professional photographer  the reason would be that photographers have an elevated potential for EGO some 400% more then any other species.

if you have never been to a photographers conference you haven't lived :)

"my zoom lens is bigger then your zoom lens "

the only thing that beats a Canon 1000mm is a leica rangefinder

Canon is my brand, them's fighting words ;)

The only glass worth owning for a canon is L series and Zeiss glass. lol.

I hang around on enough photography sites/groups that it is obvious that it is an ego driven industry. That easily explains the vanity of owning a .photography domain

Would say it is a few things,

    -First mover advantage
-They did promotion to the photography community
-The uniregistry tlds (.photo) aren't available at most big registrars so would expect a much lower count.

Also, most photographers are fairly tech savvy and aware of the need for a good domain name.

Ask me about how 80% of my daily support clients don't understand the difference between typing an address directly into a browser address bar vs typing a complete web address into Google *shudder*

Uniregistry really seem to have muddled things up with their entry into this space

I'm not a fan of the new extensions but i couldn't refuse to register 'Animation.Marketing' especially after reading about the mega bucks spent investing into this type of media -

By 2016 "video ad" spending will reach $5.4 Billion by 2016 according to Break Media. - See more at: www.insivia.com

Interesting that some folk state they are not keen on these but grab one or two anyway, i am a little in the way of thinking you either accept them or you don't, not specifically you. I am just noticing many detractors still dip their toes in …. these are interesting times. I think the .london and .berlin gtlds have an automatic groundbase to land on. Only early days for the internet in the big scheme of things.

It will be interesting to see what happens when .flights, .dating and .properties are launched as I consider these to be sensible domains with good potential due to the ease of branding.

I agree on .flights and .properties

But the .dating space has been annihilated by stuff like Tinder and the likes. Smartphone Apps seem to have become the major standard now with these.

I can see .flights being used as update sites but not sure who's gonna make money with this extension ?
