Warrior Forum has always come across as 'spammy' (probably not the best word, but can't think of a better one), so I was surprised to see a listed company purchase it.

However, I can see where the benefits lie for Freelancer - channeling WF members over to Freelancer for outsourcing their online jobs...

Yeah I know what you mean, it does seem spam driven. But that been said they probably want to tap into the user list of 800k range and also the site generates huge organic traffic at the moment. So I guess they will do alright from it.

They said the site makes 1 million revenue a year via just subscriptions LOL‏
Have never sent an email to the user base. ‏
They have never pushed display advertising.
Cheap buy‏ in my eyes.

Wow that's some chunky database running the warrior forum... 7.2MM posts since 1997.

Seems like a synergy that could work, a bit like ebay and paypal, they each help generate revenue for each other in a virtuous circle.
