Well in the NRL I had an upset today, I was at Kogarah and unfortunately the Mighty Dragons just couldn't get the golden point. Oh well, looking forward to seeing NSW absolutely SMASH UP Queensland in Origin on Wednesday

Dragons have been having a few unlucky games recently,
My team the Sharks lost tonight but which was not good, I guess it shows how important Carney and Gallen are to the team...

Grand Hyatt; Mantra Southbank and Clarion Gateway have rooms.
But they may need to get an increase on their credit card limit.

yeh, we could get a room on wotif.com.au tonight for $99 and tomorrow it was $695 !!!!
i found a place near the mcg fro $300 a night (4 guys) and then just left it up to them to sort it out.
silly buggers, they are in qld and got offered corporate seats and decided 2 days ago to come down.
I tried to book accomm 6 weeks ago and couldn't ! as i was going to go and then stay in the city.
my last suggestion to them was " well a chair at a pokey in the casino is warm".

i went to geneva once and it was booked out, i managed to get into the fire escape of a hotel and thats where i slept.
i was in paris once and no accom so i went to a bar and said to a french girl in my best aussiiieeee accent " so your place or your place " and thats where we went ( back in the days when i had hair ! )
in cairns one summer i snuck into the pool area of the holiday inn and slept on a deck chair, can't believe i didn't get caught
in noosa i went to a backpackers and just walked into a shared (8 people) room and slept on the floor, no one cared.
the list goess on, i'm a one star guy, love the adventure

What's the appeal? I'd rather watch paint dry than follow football to the extent some people do.

I think NRL and especially Origin is more of a social thing, you can head up to the pub or venue to watch the game with a bunch of mates and have a bit of fun, might even thrown down a few bets, I have also been getting into the sports betting affiliate scene a lil recently so I enjoy it.
Sure enough I don't agree with some of the crap that NRL players get up to but in the end of the day NRL is probably the most passionate sport in NSW, I am a soccer player but I have been to a few soccer games in Australia and they suck mainly because their is no passion and the games dont get decent crowds, that been said Sydney FC has a decent following but its nothing like a NRL game.

I had to moderate a post earlier this morning.
On reflection, I decided to further edit one of the posts to make it read better and keep the topic going without causing offence to anyone.
So a couple of supplementary posts by other members have been deleted - I only did this because they no longer are relevant given the original problem was fixed.
And without wishing to carry this on, those posts were made last night - and the member does regret them this morning.
So all is good.
