What do people make of Australia's chances after seeing our group in the World Cup?

- Spain
- Netherlands
- Chile

I didn't rate our chances even before the draw, but at least we can now blame our poor results on quality opposition

Group A: Brazil, Croatia, Mexico, Cameroon.
Group B: Spain, Netherlands, Chile, Australia.
Group C: Colombia, Greece, Ivory Coast, Japan.
Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy.
Group E : Switzerland, Ecuador, France, Honduras.
Group F: Argentina, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Iran, Nigeria.
Group G: Germany, Portugal, Ghana, USA.
Group H: Belgium, Algeria, Russia, South Korea.

At the risk of bringing up the cricket (and a bout of sledging) - as a pom, I don't think we got a kind group, either. I would have rather been in Colombia's group or taken my chances in the group with France and Switzerland.

Whatever happens, there is bound to be upsets - let's hope they go the way of the Aussies and England

We probably got the worst group possible.

The 3 teams we drew are all top 12 teams by ranking. The only close game for the Aussies will maybe be Chile yet even they are a strong team I saw a recent game.

The dutch and Spanish were both int he final in the last world cup, you would think they have a better system to draw teams like 4 different pools with different ranks or something.

Still I will be waking up for the games regardless.
