SO, what will the next 12 months hold?

i'll start: in the next 12 months converting old sites to mobile phone ready sites is going to be HUGE.

An advancement in tools for Repsonsive Web Design. Designing for the mobile first is all the rage atm so I'd expect that to excelerate.

Because of this I think we'll see a drop off of support for legacy browsers and the subsequent need for Polyfills/CSS hacks

2 great links FPR, and exactly why i finally went and bought an ipad last week ( 32gb wifi only and hotspot it to my mobile iphone4 )
