Hi Guys,

I am not sure if this issue has brought up anywhere in this forum, but I just want to bring it to the attention of all domain owners/investors.

Should the domains be parked or be created with auto blog post websites and why?
Considering factors like time, cost, maintenance, page indexing & ranking...

I'd love to hear what your thoughts are, please contribute and share the knowledge...Any comments at all would be much appreciated.

Happy discussion!

I have a mixture of both it depends on the domain I think if it needs to be partially developed to show buyers an idea what could be done with the domain name.

Some parked pages don't rank very well because of lack of unique content.

Thanks for quick reply xwdomains.

Yeah I agree for some "type in" domains I'd definitely park them because sites do get organic traffics from typing in. But those good "type in" domains are almost gone by now, They all tend to get developed already what we have left is partially generic (IE: RedCar or White Shirt etc...)

In terms of ranking the website, sites do not necessary have to have total unique contents but they do get lots of pages indexed by major search engines and some ranking (IE: clickbank, amazon products ...)

Regards,

i don't think "type in domains" are the be all and end all, yes they have their benefits but https://www.car.com.au/ is a good example of why people turn to google.

i'm not a "parker or auto blog" type of person, i like to at least give some form of quality to a site as xwdomains explains to show what can be doen with the site i think makes it far more valuable.

this means i spend far more time on my sites but i see it as an investment not a cost.

Thanks Tim for your input.

Let's say, as a domain investor and you have 100 if not 1000 of domains, would you still have time to spend on all of your sites though?? Yes I agree, time spent is an investment and not a cost!

Cheers, ;)

as a domain "investor" thats all you are doing, its like buying vacant blocks of land and thats ok

but for me "its my job" i'm 100% online and self employed so for me the answer is YES, spending time on them is worth it.

i also do it myself but also outsource for big projects, i just make that decision on a day to day basis and also on the project GOALS.

i have @ 250 domains myself which i'd say 80% are online making income, i have just implemented a new strategy for myself that will see 100% of my domains online making money before the end of the year , this is without interupting everything else i do AND its not parking.

i manage @ another 100 that a fair dink businesses and i manage @ another 150 that are about to go down the new path i have set with my domains

yes you can park 250 domains in 2 minutes but from people i speak to "it doesn't pay the bills" and if it does then you have a great domain that could make MOREEEE money if you put some effort into it.

my thinking is if you have a good domain that is a good keyword combo then you are better off doing targeted affiliate programs rather then parking. takes more effort but but the yield is higher in my experience.

i'm finding more and more and MORE there are many types of domainers and this solidified itself for me in sydney last week at the meetup.

with ALL due respect this view has not come solely from the sydney meetup:

1) buy / hold / sell
2) buy / build / sell
3) buy / wish they had the knowledge to build / oh shit just sell
3a) buy buy buy buy buy / wish they had the knowledge to build / oh shit just sell
4) buy/ flip instantly ( dangerous if you are not experienced )

and i am sure others can add number 5 and so on.
