It was great that they were generally positive about domain names and domain name trading, but it is always disappointing when people that don't have much experience in the area start speculating on if they are good investment or not and what are the best features of them. You really need someone like Mark actively discussing the issue with them.

But that said, still a great win for the industry.

It was great to hear Nick Healy say something along the lines of "If you had the foresight then why the bloody hell shouldn't you make some money out of it"

Yep that resonated for me too. For too long it seems domainers have felt they had to make excuses, apologise for cybersquatters and have to argue why it isn't ethical.

Why are we so different to property investors, share traders etc? Why the bloody hell should a smart considered investment built on foresight deliver a return!!

Because it makes the people watching those making money by being smart feel dumb...

And if you aren't making money by being smart, then you have to make your money by working "hard", and no one wants to make money the "hard" way. So they begrudge for it.
