Hey Guys!

Just wanted to get a general consensus on the topic.

Do you find that .co domains rank well?
Especially when its about a aussie topic?
(This is purely in a ranking perspective, not flipping)

It was initially dubbed the substitute for .com but I personally haven't seen many rank.
Though I have seen them fetch reasonable prices.

Thanks for ur help!

IMHO, an extension has absolutely nothing to do with SE ranking
Others will disagree because really, SEO is just a matter of opinion

I have two insurance related .co domains: publicliability.co & TPD.co

I haven't developed them yet because I haven't seen any other .co domains that rank well. When I hear that some are ranking well, it will be time to get to work. :)

I'd love to hear from anyone else who has tried ranking .co domains...?

I disagree.

GEO targeted TLD has a decent impact in local markets.

.com.au - does well in aus
.com and .us does well in US
.nl - - Netherlands the list goes on...

Ive tested many global markets and local domains work well.

Sure enough random TLDS like .co, .biz ect can do well but you need to do alot of work.

That been said I have had success in the past with .info I ranked a .info on page one for a term which has 14,900,000 results and very high traffic.
